Fieldhead Hospital, Wakefield by Sven Shaw

I was commissioned by Fieldhead Hospital to design a concept for their learning centre.  They  needed a wall measuring 14m x 2m to be painted to give the area a more inviting feel. Using the Trust’s branded colours, I designed a landscape featuring stylized versions of local landmarks including:

• Wakefield Cathedral
• Stoodley Pike
• Wainhouse Tower
• Barnsley Town Hall
• Yorkshire Sculpture Park
• Gibson Mill
• Huddersfield Train Station

 I painted these landmarks directly onto the wall and outlined using Posca paint pens. I finished off the mural by  applying decals featuring the Trust’s values and mission statement.
