Architecture of the UK and Ireland

Architecture of the UK and Ireland by Sven Shaw

I was commissioned to create a 1000 piece jigsaw of the buildings of the UK and Ireland, all in one cityscape. I decided to make it roughly geographically accurate, with London in the South, Wales in the West and Scotland in the North of the city. Across the river are the buildings of Eire and northern Ireland.

Over 70 different buildings are featured including:

  • Clifton Suspension Bridge Bristol
  • Eden Project St Blazey, Cornwall
  • Stonehenge Salisbury, Wiltshire
  • Brighton Pavillion Brighton, Sussex
  • Palace of Westminster London
  • Radcliffe Camera Oxford, Oxfordshire
  • Chatsworth House Bakewell, Derbyshire
  • Corn Exchange, Leeds, West Yorkshire
  • Beetham Tower Manchester

  • Edinburgh Castle Edinburgh
  • The Kelpies Falkirk, Stirlingshire
  • Balmoral Crathie, Aberdeenshire
  • University of Glasgow Glasgow, Lanarkshire

  • Menai Suspension Bridge Angelsey
  • Conwy Castle Walls Conwy, Conwy County
  • Pierhead Building Cardiff

Republic of Ireland

  • Kilkenny Castle Kilkenny, County Kilkenny
  • Rock of Cashel Cashel, County Tipperary
  • Rear Lighthouse Wicklow Head, County Wicklow
  • Convention Centre Dublin
  • St Colman’s Cathedral Cork, County Cork

Northern Ireland

  • City Hall Belfast
  • Titanic Belfast Belfast
  • Guildhall Derry, County Londonderry

and many more, all looked over by Phileas Fogg in his hot air balloon. It’s also available as a print – the perfect gift for any architecture lover.
